Overview
Structured Data Finder (“the Extension”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our Chrome extension.
Core Principle
We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.
What the Extension Does
Structured Data Finder analyzes webpages to extract structured data including:
- JSON-LD markup
- Microdata (Schema.org)
- RDFa properties
- Open Graph metadata
- Twitter Card data
All analysis happens locally on your computer within your browser. No data is ever sent to external servers.
Data Collection
We collect ZERO data:
- We do not track which websites you visit
- We do not store the data you extract
- We do not monitor your browser history
- We do not log your activity
- We do not collect usage statistics
- We do not use analytics tools
Permissions Explained
The Extension requests permission to “read and change all your data on the websites you visit.” This permission allows the Extension to:
- Access the HTML content of the current webpage
- Extract structured data from that page
- Display the data in the popup window
Important: This permission is limited to analyzing the page when YOU click the Extension icon. The Extension does not run in the background or monitor your browsing.
Data You Control
When you use the Extension:
- Copy Data – Copied data stays in your clipboard under your control
- Download Data – Downloaded files are saved to your computer (you control where and if they’re saved)
- No External Transmission – Data never leaves your device
Third-Party Services
We do NOT use:
- Analytics tools (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
- Crash reporting services
- Advertising networks
- Tracking pixels
- Cookie-based tracking
- Any third-party APIs for data processing
Browser Storage
This Extension does NOT use:
- Browser local storage
- Session storage
- Cookies
- IndexedDB
- Any persistent browser storage
All functionality is stateless and data is not retained between sessions.
Security
Since we don’t store any data, there is no data to compromise. The Extension operates entirely within your browser’s sandbox environment and cannot access:
- Your personal files
- Your browser history (except when analyzing the current page)
- Your passwords or credentials
- Your personal information from other websites
Children’s Privacy
This Extension does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The Extension is intended for developers, SEO professionals, and other adults interested in web technology.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Changes will be published in the Extension’s release notes. Your continued use of the Extension following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
Open Source
This Extension is open source and available on GitHub. You can review the complete source code to verify that:
- No data is collected
- No external requests are made
- All processing happens locally
